Hanoi, June 2026 – GAC Vietnam marks a new milestone in its ASEAN growth strategy as the first batch of left-hand drive GAC GS3 EMZOOM units produced at Tan Chong Motors Segambut plant in Malaysia has officially rolled off the production line in preparation for export to the Vietnamese market.

The line-off ceremony was witnessed by Mr. Xia Xianqing, President of GAC Group, reflecting GAC’s commitment to strengthening its regional manufacturing capabilities while reinforcing Malaysia’s growing role within the brand’s ASEAN production and supply chain network while placing strong support for Vietnam.

Strengthening Supply Capability for the Vietnamese Market

The export of the GAC GS3 EMZOOM from Malaysia represents the successful collaboration between GAC International and Tan Chong Group, one of Malaysia’s leading automotive groups and the parent company responsible for distributing GAC vehicles in Vietnam.

This export programme is expected to enhance product availability for the Vietnamese market while leveraging ASEAN’s regional manufacturing network to improve supply chain efficiency, optimize logistics operations, and deliver GAC’s globally recognized quality standards to customers in Vietnam.

The GS3 EMZOOM units destined for Vietnam are assembled at Tan Chong Group’s Segambut plant in Malaysia. The facility has undergone upgrades to support the production requirements of left-hand drive vehicles for export markets, such as Vietnam. This plant also successfully gained the Conformity of Production (COP) by the Vietnam Register (VR)

The entire manufacturing process adheres to GAC Motor’s stringent global standards for engineering, quality, and safety. From body welding and painting to final assembly and inspection, every vehicle undergoes rigorous quality control procedures to ensure reliability, durability, and world-class craftsmanship.

The export programme also involves close collaboration with Malaysian vendors and suppliers, further strengthening the regional supply chain ecosystem while laying the groundwork for future manufacturing and export initiatives across ASEAN.

A Dynamic Urban SUV with Sporty Styling and Advanced Technology

The GAC GS3 EMZOOM is one of GAC’s standout urban SUVs, recognized for its sporty design, advanced technologies, and dynamic driving performance.

The vehicle is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged gasoline direct injection engine producing 130kW and 270Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed Wet Dual Clutch Transmission. This powertrain delivers responsive acceleration and agile handling across a variety of driving conditions.

In addition, the GS3 EMZOOM comes equipped with a host of premium features, including a dual-screen digital cockpit, panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera system, and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), offering enhanced convenience, safety, and driving confidence for customers.

Beginning of a Long-Term Export Programme

The first shipment is scheduled to arrive in Vietnam starting June 2026, marking the beginning of a structured and sustainable export programme between Malaysia and Vietnam.

This initiative forms part of GAC’s long-term strategy to optimize manufacturing capabilities within ASEAN while meeting the growing demand of customers in Vietnam and neighboring markets.
