With many years of experience owning and driving luxury vehicles, Mr. Le Quang Thang (entrepreneur, Ho Chi Minh City) recently chose the GAC All-New M8 2.0T GX Master to meet his daily mobility needs while enjoying quality family moments. In this conversation, he shares the reasons why this MPV has won him over.

Reporter: What made you decide to purchase this model when the market offers so many choices?

Mr. Le Quang Thang:
When I first saw the M8 at the Vietnam Motor Show in October 2024, I immediately thought: “This is the car for me.” It is spacious, comfortable, and reasonably priced. What impressed me most was the premium second-row seating — perfect for my two little “princesses” (my granddaughters).

The very next morning, I visited the dealership and placed a deposit for the vehicle.

Reporter: After four months of ownership, how have your impressions changed?

Mr. Le Quang Thang:

I am still very impressed by the large and bold front grille. It looks powerful and eye-catching yet remains well-balanced within the overall design. Inside the cabin, the seats are luxurious and spacious, allowing my family to truly enjoy every journey. My two grandchildren especially love the massage function in the second row.

Although the vehicle is large, its fuel consumption is surprisingly efficient. On highways, when maintaining smooth throttle input, the consumption is only around 5.5–6.5L/100km.

In addition, I am very satisfied with the customer service experience. Sales consultants regularly stay in touch, provide follow-up support and remind me of scheduled maintenance. With 24/7 roadside assistance services available, I feel very confident and well supported.

Reporter: How do you evaluate the vehicle’s technology and safety features, which are important factors in this segment?

Mr. Le Quang Thang:

I highly appreciate the technology package, especially Adaptive Cruise Control and the electronic parking brake with Auto Hold function — very convenient in daily use. Once, when I stopped the car and opened the door, the system automatically engaged the brake and shifted into parking mode. That gave me strong confidence in how effectively the safety systems operate.

Reporter: You have driven many vehicles before. How would you describe the driving experience of the M8?

Mr. Le Quang Thang:

I have owned and driven German vehicles, and I currently own a Japanese model. However, the M8 feels like a “refreshing upgrade.” Compared to other vehicles I’ve driven over the years, the M8 stands out with its spacious cabin, solid build quality and intelligent technology. Steering response is precise, and throttle calibration feels very well balanced.

Reporter: Some people are still hesitant about vehicles originating from China. What is your perspective?

Mr. Le Quang Thang:

I often hear comments like “Chinese cars are like this or that,” but I don’t follow stereotypes. When buying a car, I focus on quality, not country of origin. The M8 offers a wide range of modern technologies and well-finished interiors. I also learned that GAC has more than 20 years of cooperation with Toyota and Honda, applying advanced manufacturing technologies.

Instead of debating opinions, I simply invite people to experience the car themselves. After sitting inside and test driving it, most of them admit that the ride is smooth and the interior quality is comparable to Japanese and German vehicles.

My son also researched the model and found that it has received many prestigious international awards. If anyone has similar needs to mine, I would be more than happy to recommend it.

After four months of ownership, have you had any memorable moments with the vehicle?

Once, while driving my family on a trip, my two “little princesses” said: “Grandpa, this car is nicer than the old one!” That made me extremely happy.

Every time I drive the car out, people on the street and even my friends are curious and impressed. At this point, I know I made the right decision — and I am truly proud of it.
